In short the Sega Nomad is a portable genesis in full color. It was sold only sold in the US for $179. At first the high price kept it from becoming very popular. But after a while the price dropped under $50. The nomad can play almost all existing genesis games and also a lot of megadrive games. The Nomad could be hooked directly to a television. You could even attach an extra controller for two-player mode.

The nomad can be modified so it can play both PAL and NTSC protected games.
